"Alta Villa", Latin for Eltville, is the Riesling from Koegler, which is entirely dedicated to its origin. The dry Riesling Alta Villa is a blend of Riesling grapes from the best Eltville locations that Weingut Koegler cultivates. The soils of these vineyards are characterized by deep loess clay, interspersed with limestone. The Riesling Alta Villa dry is traditionally aged in large wooden barrels, giving it spicy components and remarkable longevity. The wine has excellent Riesling-typical fruit aromas that are combined with the great spiciness from the wooden barrel. A harmonious triad of fruit, lively acidity, and substance makes it a great wine. A delicate and long-lasting drop. Wines from Weingut Koegler are never mainstream, but always a small adventure that should not be missed.
