Blue Zweigelt is an Austrian new breeding from the red grape varieties St. Laurent and Blaufränkisch. This unusual grape variety for Germany also found its place in the vineyards of Weingut Koegler. The red wine was aged in a wooden barrel and vinified into a fruity, delicate wine. The Blue Zweigelt is characterized by its deep red color with violet reflections. In the nose, wonderful aromas of currant and vanilla spread, which also return in the taste. Through the barrel aging, the wine received a velvety soft finish and is already in its young years the ideal drinking wine. The special grape varieties of Weingut Koegler such as the Blue Zweigelt or the Green Veltliner reflect the winemaker's affinity for the Austrian Wachau. Thus, the Eltviller operation is known beyond the boundaries of the area for its fine spicy-piquant white wines and strong-dense red wines of these grape varieties. Wines from Weingut Koegler are never mainstream, but always a small adventure that should not be missed
